We said goodbye to kitten Amy and her shy sister Amanda during the Winter in 2010. Unfortunately their family had to bring them back.

They are beautiful full grown cats now. Just as they were as kittens, Amy is more adventurous and Amanda is shy.
We hope it won’t be long before they get their second chance at love.

Ironically, the cats who live in the shelter kitchen are all on reduced calorie food. Pepper and Susie are very laid back cats.

But Shadow says, “Are you saying that I’m fat?”

Today I started cleaning in Cat Room #1 at the shelter, and was surprised to see a new resident in Bijou’s cage. Pretty gray and white Della is twelve years old, quiet and loving.

Pretty little Carmella was adopted this week, as well as some old friends who had been at the shelter for quite a while (those are the names with stars).
See where it says “Mickey (from Foster)”? Kitten Mickey is officially ours!

This is Carmella.

The definition of “bijou” reads:
1 : a small dainty usually ornamental piece of delicate workmanship : jewel
2 : something delicate, elegant, or highly prized

“Bijoux” is the plural form, so she’s even more precious.

These two year old girls came to the shelter together, and we hope they will be adopted together.
Shadow, the dark torti, is friendly but very shy.
Tabby torti (torby?) Tiger is much more outgoing.

The shelter has kittens. Despite the snow on the ground, Spring is in the air! Amanda is the dark tortoiseshell and her sister Amy is the pale dilute torti.
UPDATE: They have been adopted together. Yea!

eLarisa
This is 6 month old Larisa who is at the shelter with her mom, Margarita.
I’ve been reading about cat markings, and she would be considered a patched tabby, maybe.
Tortie-tabby, torbie, caliby, dilute whatever… she’s a very cute cat!
You can read about markings here and get more confused too.

The cats have each other, and lots of attention from staff and volunteers until their perfect new family finds them at the shelter. Very soon, I hope!
It’s getting pretty crowded at PAWS.
