When you have a harmonious home, with two wonderful well adjusted cats like Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red, why rock the boat?
I don’t know the answer to that question.
One Sunday morning, while doing my regular cleaning work at PAWS, I saw this eight month old polydactyl boy, and evidently lost my mind.
That afternoon, I suggested Rick take some measurements at the shelter for a catification project. And, by the way, want to see a cute cat?
Here’s our very own Mickey Mouser, luxuriating in his favorite sunny cat bed.
And then along comes Rufus the Red…
They are such good buddies.
Mickey: I was here first, Rufus.
Rufus: And that matters why?
It’s been a long cold Winter here in Connecticut and our old electric cat mat has been in constant and sometimes disputed use.
When Maya from Art of Paws wrote to offer a new larger, thicker mat for review, we said yes!
How did she know that Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red are professional mattress testers?
Mindy always seemed to enjoy the nesting box on the wall that Rick built and I decorated…
Taylor and Daphne were also fans.
But recently I noticed that something was amiss.
Back to the drawing board!
Making a list, checking it twice;
Gonna find out who’s naughty and nice…
You think I need these fake ears?
A few months ago, we were contacted by volunteer at the Longmont Humane Society in Colorado. She had questions about the wall hammocks Rick has been making out of wood. I was happy to share his plans, but they figured out another method – using plumbing supplies!
We had to give it a try.
And a young cat’s fancy turns to chomping on house plants…
That’s when we decided it was time to plant another crop of kitty grass.
Here’s Rufus tamping down moistened potting soil.
