A few months ago, we were contacted by volunteer at the Longmont Humane Society in Colorado. She had questions about the wall hammocks Rick has been making out of wood. I was happy to share his plans, but they figured out another method – using plumbing supplies!
We had to give it a try.
And a young cat’s fancy turns to chomping on house plants…
That’s when we decided it was time to plant another crop of kitty grass.
Here’s Rufus tamping down moistened potting soil.
One would think, we should have two beds on the wide sunny window sill for two cats, right?
In their inscrutable way, here are our Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red contemplating the unpopular red plush bed.
“He drew a circle that shut me out –
Heretic , rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win:
We drew a circle and took him In!”
When we brought Rufus home to keep Mickey Mouser company,
we had no idea that we had initiated a month long battle of wills.
That was in July 2015.
Rufus the Red wishes you a very happy Holiday Season.
“May your days be merry and bright”!
This is Peek-A-Boo who ended up at the shelter because her person was too ill to care for her. She’s a lovely 13 year old calico getting lots of love and affection from staff and volunteers at PAWS.
At the other end of the age spectrum…
Rufus the Red here, reporting from Maggie’s studio where we have been hard at work drawing the illustrations for coloring books.
Today bloggers all over the world are promoting and publishing peace globes. I can’t think of a better time to change the tone of the conversation to peace, love, and kindness.
My globe features Mickey Mouser and Rufus the Red, feline role models.
No comments today, everybody take a deep breath and think good thoughts.
