Roommates Junior (on the lower perch) and Patch were both “owner-release” cats, although not from the same household. They have been living the Shelter life for quite a while.
Their days are spent napping and people watching from the window that looks into the PAWS lobby.

When they see someone come into the shelter, are they thinking, “Will this be the person who brings me home?”

Patch is almost four years old and Junior is about two and a half. They are healthy and ready to go!

They’ve been waiting for a new home a little over a year now. Hunny and Bunny are quiet, loving, undemanding cats. They get along very well with other cats, and enjoy people too.

Four black cats!

“Play with me play with me play with me pleeeeeese!”

“Will you play with me?”

Yankee is happy that there’s a place where he can get away from pesky kittens. Poor Kosmo!

Yankee and his orange sister Doodle are still available at the Shelter. Tabby brothers Kosmo and Kramer almost had a home, but the adoption didn’t work out. The second time will surely be the charm!

Jet and his brother Jack are about a year and a half old. Jet is a bit reserved, while Jack is the more outgoing of the pair, curious and appreciative of a good petting and brushing session.
That’s Jet in the foreground.

And here’s Jack!

After the Holidays, we had a lot of cardboard boxes in the garage.
You will need way too much time on your hands, a glue gun, and many many long strips of cardboard for this project….

but the cats really are using it! Directions HERE.

I’m going to need some help here listing their names. Given my weakness for tabby cats, I do know that the very cute Gideon is on top.

UPDATE: Gideon has left the Shelter for his new home!

When you visit PAWS, you can see these cats through a big picture window in the shelter lobby. I was photographing them and the bottom left perch was empty. So, I picked up the beautiful cat who’s wearing the tuxedo and put him in place.
These cats are very co operative!

He’s 6 years old and his family left him at the Shelter. But he makes new friends easily and is adjusting well to shelter life.
Ringo’s got a playful easy going type B personality.

Things I know about Q:
He’s a one year old cat and full of energy.
He was “owner released” and also declawed by them.
Q has wonderful markings!

But I have no idea why he was left behind, declawed, or named “Q”…

UPDATE: Q has been adopted!

Jerome and Bunny love the cool new trees in their room.

I used to watch a TV show on the Animal Planet network called, “HouseCat HouseCall“. A vet visited homes and advised families on resolving behavioral issues. Dr. Katrina almost always suggested the purchase of cat trees.

It works for Santana! She’s is now out of her cage and free to enjoy her roommates. Or climb the cat tree and get away from it all.
