I have learned at the shelter that the appearance of old furniture can be greatly improved by the addition of a decorative cat. Two cats are always better though.

When I saw how much the shelter cats liked the Scratch Lounge, I decided to get one for Gracie. She likes scratching on it better than on the couch! And it matches her eyes.

I was busy taking pictures of this pretty tabby cat in one of the communal rooms in the shelter, when I felt a tap on top of my head. It was this guy-

Nemo is ‘balance challenged’ because of a neurological disorder. Despite his problems, he is one of the most happy and playful cats at the shelter.

These cats and three or four others (I lost count) are content at the shelter. There are no cages in their room because they all get along fine. Here they are, sitting together in a sunny window, waiting for a family of their own.

The cats enjoy hand-me-down furniture at the shelter. Many of them add their own touches to the decor.
