When they see someone come into the shelter, are they thinking, “Will this be the person who brings me home?”

Patch is almost four years old and Junior is about two and a half. They are healthy and ready to go!

Four black cats!

This is an invitation for a tummy rub session. He’s listed as a stray, but it’s obvious from his friendly attitude that, before he fell on hard times, he was someone’s sweetheart.

Cecil is 7 years young and must be an indoor cat because he’s been declawed.

Not quite a year old, brothers Lenny (above) and Tony (below) are looking for a home together. When their cage door is opened, bold curious Lenny leaps into action! Shy Tony is more cautious, and he has a very cute pink nose.

One day a woman came to PAWS looking for a cat companion. The adoption councilor brought her into the office and she sat in the chair. The cat came out from underneath, jumped in her lap, and started to purr!

I’ve often wondered, was it something in the woman’s tone of voice? Was it her perfume? Did the woman trigger a memory of the cat’s loved ones?

When I’m discouraged about some of the shelter cats’ prospects, when it seems like they’ll never find a new home and loving family, I think about this story.
There’s always hope.

Two year old Mocha came to the shelter just last week. She’s friendly and enjoys the company of people and other cats.

UPDATE: Good news, Mocha has been adopted!

Yankee is happy that there’s a place where he can get away from pesky kittens. Poor Kosmo!

Yankee and his orange sister Doodle are still available at the Shelter. Tabby brothers Kosmo and Kramer almost had a home, but the adoption didn’t work out. The second time will surely be the charm!

That’s Mama Concha on top and her big baby son Julio on the bottom. Their lucky new family will pick them up next week.

And hello Goldie!

He is 6 years old, a BIG lapful of beautiful cat. Goldie is very friendly, calm, and gets along well with the other cats in the room.

These two came to the shelter in late June. Although they are teenagers now, (about 9 months old) they are very calm, quiet, shy young cats and haven’t asked for the car keys yet.

Yankee is a black and white male, and Doodle is an orange and white female.

Jet and his brother Jack are about a year and a half old. Jet is a bit reserved, while Jack is the more outgoing of the pair, curious and appreciative of a good petting and brushing session.

Her tilted right ear gives her a jaunty devil-may-care look. But Callie is a sweet shy girl at heart. She’s ten years young and has a lot of love to give!
