Patch is surveying the room from a very well worn cat perch. That’s Brenna, an active young girlcat, below him. Shy Junior is in the background.

Another week, another hammock.

Roamer has a pink one to match his nose.

I don’t want to embarrass Allie, but she is on w/d (weight reduction) food. She’s 7 years old and not very active. When she’s out of her cage, her favorite activities are napping and supervising other cat’s meals.

“Who me? I just have big bones.”

Allie is a gentle loving cat and would be so happy to have a home to call her own after nearly 2 years at the shelter.

Good News- Allie’s neighbor, tabby Bailey, has been adopted!

Carin is a three year old Maltese Poodle mix. Although she only has three legs, Carin gets around quite nicely.
A volunteer who is a pet groomer gave up her Sunday morning to make sure this little dog has the best chance for adoption.
First she was trimmed and shaved.

Then she got a bath. This little dog is so good natured and patient!

Here is Carin after her makeover.
I’m thankful for the company of so many kind, hard working, caring people at the shelter each week!

I made a second hammock this week and brought it to PAWS wondering where to put it. I looked for a wide cage inhabited by two cats. When I installed it in Pan and Persephone’s cage, Persephone immediately jumped up and made herself comfortable.

But, she made it pretty clear to brother Pan that it was all hers. Kosmo and Kramer are quite often found snuggled up together in their hammock. At least it gives the caged cats a little more room.

Kosmo and Kramer

Either of these cat pairs would make a wonderful instant family. They’re all healthy and sweet tempered. You can see how beautiful they are!

“What’s a nice cat like me doing in a place like this?”

This morning I discovered that four year old Woogie is a very athletic cat!
He leapt to the top of the 6 foot high cage bank and was understandably reluctant to return to his cage. After some amazing aerial work, he jumped back on his own.
This beautiful boy needs a home and room to run free.

A quiet quartet of available kittens waiting for homes.

Five year old Bailey is a bit shy at first, but he warms up when you start to brush him. His cage card describes him as a “gentle couch potato.”

UPDATE! Bailey has been adopted!

Virginia is a busy, curious young girl cat. She was wondering why I was following her around pointing that little box at her.

To round off tabby day, here’s one of the most beautiful kittens of the year!

Two years ago this week, we took delivery on a 11 week old kitten that we were supposed to foster for PAWS until the shelter had room for him. He had been living in the woods along the edge of the city’s dog park.

It wasn’t long before we realized that he wasn’t a temporary visitor- he was family. It took a bit longer to convince Tommie and Ms Grace Lillian! Happy Gotcha day, Mickey!

Now that Loreen and Krystal have been adopted, I was very curious to see who moved into their old room at the shelter.
The new residents are a mother and daughter. Meet four month old Daisy.

And her one year old mother Dolly.

Little Daisy was very busy exploring the room while Mom kept a watchful eye on her baby.

Daisy wore herself out! Have you ever seen such pink toe pads?

ADOPTED TOGETHER!
