Last week I met Frederick and fell in love.
He’s a big guy, but he’s calm, sweet and gentle.
The kittens I’ve been featuring lately are little balls of energy… and other things that require some training and cleaning supplies.
A mature cat is just ready to love you and so happy to have a home.
Come meet Frederick at PAWS!

Tommie’s 14th Birthday
Tommie wants to thank everyone for their birthday wishes. He was too busy celebrating in his catnip patch yesterday.

I wasn’t sure how to select a winner, so I went to www.random.com and put the number of comments into their Random Number Generator.
Immediately #7 came up. Comment #7 is Meowmeowmans aka Kevin from Animal Shelter Volunteer Life! Kevin has a wonderful blog about the very same PAWS shelter.

Then I decided to let Gracie chose a second winner. After she ate the treats I put in the bottom of the bowl, she picked out Laura, comment #11.

Thank you for all the nice comments! The book is now available on Amazon.

When I’m not at PAWS, or home playing with my own cats, I illustrate children’s books. What do I most like to draw and paint? Cats!
I just got copies of my new book starring my own Tommie and Gracie.

Leave a comment on this post and I’ll choose one person to get a free copy of the book.
Good Luck!

This is a picture I took 6 years ago at PAWS and still has to be one of my favorites. The rabbit was living peacefully in a colony of cats, eating cat food and sleeping cuddled with them.
When the bunny and kittens were brought to the shelter, sometimes we’d see the kittens nibbling on lettuce!

Loreen and her sister Krystal have been at PAWS since September 2009. From the start, Krystal has been a good tempered cat, adjusting well to shelter life.

Then there’s Loreen…

There’s a dry erase board in most of the cat rooms with tips on things like favorite toys, whether a cat likes to be brushed, which cats can be out of their cages together. It’s very helpful information. Some months ago a note appeared (Thank you Tracey and Kevin at Animal Shelter Volunteer Life!) advising that if you put a towel in your lap, Loreen would come over and sit. Having needed bandaids from encounters with Loreen in the past, I wasn’t eager to experiment.

Then Sunday I sat down with the towel and called her. She came right over and purred up a storm! Yea!!!
