Shelter Cats, Shelter Kittens

Happy New Year!

Here are just a few of the Shelter cats and kittens we cared for and loved in the past year. They’re all celebrating today in their very own homes. My wish for the New Year is a safe and loving family for all animals, and for people too.

Their names have probably changed now that they’ve been adopted, but starting at the top from left to right, here are:
Emmanuel, Calypso, Sophie, Pedro, Tallahassee, Luisa, Pixiedoodle, Gideon, Cameron, Yoshi, Leo, Lynne, Kiet, Levi, Trinket, Willow, and Charleston.

After the Holidays, we had a lot of cardboard boxes in the garage.
You will need way too much time on your hands, a glue gun, and many many long strips of cardboard for this project….

but the cats really are using it! Directions HERE.

Happy Holidays

“May your days be merry and bright…”
(but we could do without the white stuff).

The best decorations have fur.

More Good News!

Kosmo and Kramer are together in a new home for the Holidays.

Marmalade has left the building too…

as well as Puck!
It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas around the Shelter.

Nap Club

You’ve probably been wondering how our own furry family has been doing.

Tommie, Ms. Grace Lillian, and Mickey Mouser have formed a club which meets frequently during the day at various locations around the house.

Last Fall I wrote several times about the bumpy road we were traveling trying to ease baby Mickey into the family. Time and patience took care of most of the problems.
If you’re in that situation with your own cats, hang in there!

So Long, Thicket!

Some cats and kittens at the Shelter are so appealing, it’s surprising that they aren’t adopted immediately. Thicket, who spent months of her kittenhood charming the staff and volunteers, has finally gone to her new home.
Maybe she was just waiting for the right family.

You can see Thicket’s baby picture HERE.

Sunday at the Shelter was a pleasure. I started out by cleaning and playing in the kitten room where I met little Trinket.

What a sweetheart!
