Io is a very sociable tabby and white cat. Here he is with Jerome…
and with Bobby. He enjoys the company of people too.

Good news! They have already been adopted.
I don’t like to use the term “owners” and new “parents” sounds wrong to me too.. The host of “My Cat From Hell“, Jackson Galaxy, uses “guardian”. What do you say?

Two year old Maggie is a sweet and gentle cat.
Our friends at Animal Shelter Volunteer Life fell in love with her too.

Pretty Violet is making progress with her socialization- she hisses “hello”, then lets us brush and pet her.

When I wrote about Milo back in May, he was still a very grumpy, unfriendly guy. What a difference love, attention, and treats can make!

Now Milo is living loose in Cat Room #5. His calm manner and loud purr makes him the favorite cat to curl up with.

That’s Violet in the cage. The cats are telling her to stop hissing all the time so that she can come out too.

Florio

Royce

I don’t know this kitten’s name- but he or she has already been adopted and is home in someone’s lap.
This time of the year the adult cats have a longer wait for a new family.

Many people struggle financially to care for the furry members of their families. Consumer Reports magazine had some good ideas (including the benefits of adopting from animal shelters!) in a series of articles you can read HERE.

Some of the pairs at the Shelter came in together. Some found comfort in new friends that they met at PAWS.

“Ain’t it good to know that you’ve got a friend
When people can be so cold
They’ll hurt you, and desert you
And take your soul if you let them
Oh, but don’t you let them…

You just call out my name
And you know wherever I am
I’ll come running to see you again
Winter, spring, summer or fall
All you have to do is call
And I’ll be there
You’ve got a friend.”

Here’s Margot!
She’s only 9 months old, but she’s already seen some hard times. Her cage card says, “Owner-released” and “Afraid of a raised hand and loud noises”.

We’re wishing this nice girl much better luck with her next family.

Update June 2012 – Margot finally got a new home!
