Thursday I spent some time visiting the cats at the Shelter. I’m glad I met beautiful Siamese kitten Kiet, because I have a feeling he’ll be adopted before I go back on Sunday. Who could resist those blue eyes?
Yes! He’s spending the holiday weekend with his new family.
Tessa spends a lot of her time in a cage. Because she’s on a special diet, and she’s not fond of other cats, she can’t live in one of the open rooms at the shelter. When it’s her turn to be loose in the room, she’s a happy cat. Maybe that catnip toy is helping to elevate her mood…
Look who was found in a cat carrier left outside of the shelter! Fortunately her people abandoned her in a safe place. Two year old Chihuahua Cassie has already been placed with a new family.
We’ve just started to work on socializing Milo. His ears say, “No, no, no,” but then he feels the brush running through his beautiful orange coat. And he’s starting to say, “Yes.”
On his cage card it says, “Lap cat.” I’ve met a lot of lap cats at the shelter, but none like Emmanuel. As soon as someone comes within range, he hops up onto their shoulder and drapes himself contentedly. Emmanuel’s a very sweet seven year old tabby.
This is Maggie who came to the shelter as a very angry and bad tempered stray. At first, when we entered her room, there was the constant sound of growling coming from her cage. After weeks of treats and visits from kind hearted and brave volunteers, she’s a different cat. Now she purrs and kneads her towel in anticipation when she sees her friends. I don’t know about dogs, but you can teach a cat new tricks!
